Ondo state election 2024: INEC provides updateAccording to INEC, of the 3,933 polling units (PUs) across the 203 wards in the 18 local government areas (LGAs) of Ondo state, 3,823 (97 percent) opened by 8.30 am.

According to the commission:

Ondo decides 2024: APC starts monitoring of electionThe situation room at the APC’s national secretariat in Abuja has commenced monitoring of the ongoing election process in Ondo state.

Ondo state election 2024: SDP candidate eyes winBamidele Akingboye, candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the Ondo governorship election, said he is optimistic about winning the poll.

Per The Cable, he promised to “rescue his people from poverty and hunger” should he win.

LP Candidate casts his voteLabour Party’s (LP) candidate, Ayodele Olorunfemi, has cast his vote in the ongoing Ondo State governorship election.

This comes after a dramatic turn of events that saw him being reinstated as the LP candidate by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Initially, an Abuja High Court had directed INEC to recognize Olusola Ebiseni as the LP candidate, but the party appealed the ruling, leading to Olorunfemi’s reinstatement.

Interior minister casts his votePresident Bola Tinubu’s minister of interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has cast his vote at the ongoing Ondo state governorship election.

The minister casts his vote at PU17, Ward 3, Court Hall/Igafo/Araoye, Akoko north-west.

PDP Agboola casts his voteAgboola Ajayi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in today’s governorship election in Ondo State, has cast his vote at Apoi Ward II, Unit 004, Kiribo, located in the Ese Odo Local Government Area.

He arrived at the polling unit with his wife around 10:36 am to exercise his civic duty. This development comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) distributes election materials to various units across the state, with reports of early arrivals in some areas, such as Akoko South-West Local Government.

“The system has been compromised”: PDP candidate accuses INECAgboola Ajayi, the PDP candidate, accused INEC of bias, saying he has received reports of delays in the commencement of voting in parts of the state. Ajayi said it took almost 10 minutes before he could cast his vote, describing it as an attempt to frustrate voters.

“The system has been compromised… It is sad INEC can’t conduct election well in one state,” Ajayi said.

SDP Governorship candidate casts his voteOtunba Bamidele Akingboye, the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Ondo State, has expressed his expectation for a credible election in the ongoing governorship poll.

According to Vanguard, After casting his vote at exactly 9:00 a.m. at Unit 10, Ward 2, Okitipupa area, Akingboye emphasized the importance of a fair and transparent process.

Gov Aiyedatiwa casts his voteGovernor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo state and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the ongoing election cast his vote on Saturday morning, November 16.

The governor arrived at his Igbo Ward 4, Obenla community in the Ilaje local government area of the state at about 9 a.m. on Saturday and cast his vote at about 9 minutes past 9.
